In the final month’s of 16-year old, Olivia Wise’s life, she touched the hearts of many around the world with her singing Katy Perry’s “Roar” including Katy Perry herself. The Toronto teen passed away from an inoperable brain tumor. In an exclusive interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Olivia’s mother Kari Winemaker spoke about her legacy.
“We’ve always known Olivia was so special and now the world has seen how special she really is and Olivia just showed us such strength and courage through her illness and the one thing that we would like the world to know is that it’s important to keep your strength, follow your dreams,” she said. “Olivia never gave up fighting for her dream.”
The Liv Wise Fund was started by Olivia’s parents in her honour to support children living with brain tumors and brain tumor research.
